Antique Kimono Zaishu SOLD OUT


This Antique Kimono "Zaishu" (Japanese word for small seat) piece features hand printed patterns inspired by the 16th century Edo period in Japan. Can be used both as a seat or side table. It is eco-friendly and made of plantation Australian Hoop Pine and water based inks and varnish, this seat or table received an Australian "Good Environmental Choice" certification. A great hip, artistic and functional object designed by Zaishu Studio launched in 2004 by Australian designers Matthew Butler and Helen Punton. Your Zaishu will come flat packed in reusable drawstring bags, which have been stitched lovingly by women with intellectual disabilities as part of a rewarding community program. The inner packaging is biodegradable, made of cornstarch. Assemble in one minute with unique slot together durable design. Artwork includes dark pink pheasants, blue-green carp and red tapestry flowers. A great piece.
